CASTLEKIRK ARTHOUSE is a converted church, surrounded by the dramatic scenery of the northend in the heart of Lochranza village, situated on the edge of a sea loch which is fed by the streams and rivers that flow down through the glens of North Arrans' Highland region.
CASTLEKIRK ARTHOUSE is the perfect retreat for artists, musicians, writers and poets, or those who just want to stay in a unique Bed and Breakfast and soak up the friendly creative atmosphere. Guests can enjoy looking at more artwork which is displayed throughout the house and in the bedrooms. Artists are encouraged to use the space in the gallery if they wish to paint whilst on holiday, easels are available to borrow, and if any musicians feel so inclined, it’s also a great space to sit and practice!
Steeped in legend and romance, Lochranza is the jewel in Arrans Crown. Occasionally the peace is broken by the calls of oystercatchers annoyed by the odd human intrusion. Seals sit on the rocks whilst herons wade around the waters' edge, wild deer can frequently be seen roaming the village, and golden eagles can sometimes be seen circling overhead. Across the Kilbrannan Sound, where the sun sets, waits Kintyre. Look almost due north for views over to scenic Loch Fyne - the spiritual home of the kipper!

This ariel photo shows Castlekirk located in the heart of Lochranza Village, within easy walking distance of the Cloanaig Ferry, Pub, Arran Distillery, and golf course. Please note that there is no village shop, a post office operates from the village hall twice a week, and basic supplies can be bought from the local butcher or the small shop run by the restaurant on the golf course, the nearest grocers shop/post office is in Pirnmill which is 6 miles away, we are happy to provide packed lunches. Local dining includes The Lochranza Hotel, which has a public bar and serves lunch and evening meals, the distillery offers food up until 6pm and the excellent Stags Pavillion, the restaurant at the golfcourse, which is so popular it is advisable to book your table in advance on 01770 830600. There is also a takeaway sandwich bar located opposite the ferry.

Wild red deer are frequently seen roaming through the village, fences have to be put in place, and gates tightly shut at all times to stop them from eating the local’s gardens! We ask for your vigilance in this matter!
